Derek & Shi Min

Shi Min & Derek came to us with a unique colour palette of peach, cream, khaki, green and blue; we could almost immediately identify with the vintage whimsical feel they liked! Imagine flags, fabric rosettes, twine, chalkboard, tin pots, beige lace…just some of the details we infused to portray the thematic feel.

We literally fell in love with the quaint colonial setting and lush greenery at Burkhill Hall, a perfect location for all things whimsical! And of course, it was heart-warming that the couple and their guests loved our creations, what more could we ask for? Thank you, Shi Min & Derek, for your trust and belief in us!

Vineyard theme

When blissful brides approached us to do up a photo shoot for Paradise group, we were more happy to do so because their food is really yummy! This was for their new catering line called One Paradise. It was a joint collaboration with Spaboutique for the venue, as well as House of Mini for the desserts.

When we first visited Spaboutique to check out the place in order to determine the theme, the vineyard theme (which we’ve always wanted to do) was the first thing that came to mind as this was the ideal place.

Although it was a combination of a colonial setting plus an outdoor balinese feel, the vineyard theme seemed right as there was a lot of woody element. We’ve never imagined that there could be such a serene and relaxing place nestled near the bustling orchard/tanglin area.

Each and every step of planning and conceptualisation/styling made our hearts beat a little faster in excitement! We’re so happy to have Lydia from D’zign for you to capture our work again coz she rocks!!  Here’s some of the pictures to share with all of you and a lil more on our facebook page.

Nicholas & Sharon

Nicholas & Sharon approached us to style their ROM solemnisation venue at Crowne Plaza Changi Airport. It was for a small group of 40-45 close friends and family members. Since Sharon loves Hello Kitty, she requested for us to use pink and incorporate some elements of Hello Kitty into the decor.

We’re glad that they entrusted the whole styling to us, giving us the freehand to decorate the venue! See our facebook page for more photos!

On a side note: I love the Dim Sum at Imperial Treasure, located within the hotel itself! A friend from Hong Kong affirms that it IS one of the better ones that you can find it Singapore. Go try it if you have a love for Dim Sum! Speaking of which, I’m drooling already :P

Jason & Hsin Yah – Church

It was our pleasure that Hsin Yah and Jason engaged us to style their wedding for Church of the Sacred Heart and Capella Hotel. We worked with Hsin Yah’s favourite colour – white, and flowers  to weave in the details of the decoration, bringing forth the theme at both venues.  The result: an elegant, romantic timeless wedding. And of course, the view at Capella Hotel was breath-taking; a perfect setting for a cosy and intimate celebration. Check out all the details here for the church wedding!

We’ll post another album for the decorations at Capella Hotel at a later date, so keep your eyes on our facebook page!

Peter & Jasmine

“All who are gifted artisans among you shall come and make all that the Lord has commanded.” Exodus 35:10

We’ve always wanted to try the colour theme of canary yellow, black and white for the longest time.  However, only an adventurous couple would be comfortable with this colour palette injected with old school retro funk. Then came along Peter & Jasmine. Oh boy, how thrilled we were when they readily agreed to these three suggested colours!

Like the colours, they too exude warmth and fun with a tinge of mysteriousness that makes us want to know them better.

We had so much fun exploring all the possibilities in making the decor look different and to DIY the decor items from scratch ourselves!

Wilfred & Wendy

We are still coming to grips with the fact that it’s already Feb 2012…. How did time fly by so quickly? Well, I guess this happens when one is having too much fun! In our case, it’d have to be the excitement and joy in styling our clients’ weddings. Indeed, 2011 has been an eventful one for us and we know that God will bless us with so much more in 2012!

Here’s a pic to share from our last wedding in 2011 during the Christmas period.

Wilfred and Wendy came to us with a specific theme in mind {Vintage Christmas}. We were so delighted to brainstorm for ideas and craft the wedding decor! On the day of the wedding at Shutters, Amara Sanctuary Resort Sentosa, we were so pleasantly surprised to see their guests dressed so aptly in support of the vintage Christmas theme. Gorgeous people in stylish outfits. Fascinator hats galore. A feast for the eyes! Haha.

It was at this wedding that we met a cool photographer, Darryl of Dazza Pictures. Check out his amazing work {here!} We can’t wait to view the photos that he’s captured!

The most memorable part of this wedding was when an assistant executive housekeeper, Lester Ho came to us and requested for some of the tulle pomanders. He was in charge of the wedding buggies in the hotel and would like to beautify them with our pomanders as he found them pretty. How could we refuse such a request?  This man’s passion in his humble job struck a chord with us and it made us smile :) Awesome end to 2011!

Our December

This December must have been the most busy month of our calendar in 2011 as it was  filled with weddings, weddings and styling of three locations within Changi Beach Club for Seabliss restaurant.

There was the indoor location in Seabliss restaurant itself. Theme: Elegant minimalist (to enhance the gorgeous unblocked seaview from within the restaurant)

Then another at the beach. Theme: Whimsical (We created paper and tulle accordions, pom poms, pinwheels using colours such as pink, yellow and orange with a tinge of white) Check out more photos for the decor details at our facebook page!

Lastly, a cosy spot at the farther end of the beach which spells romantic (Theme: Romantic lilac)

Although the saying goes “A picture paints a thousand words”, we still suggest that you check out the gorgeous view personally!

Through this experience, we’re really happy to have met  people who are passionate about their job and this encourages us to hold on to our dreams and continue to fulfil them! Thank you Dominic, Jacqueline & Angie  for giving us this opportunity. Thanks to Lydia for the great shots of the decor!

We just love our job! Do you?

Thomas & Regina

A first statement that I have to make with this entry:

“Thomas & Regina are undeniably one of the most CHARMING couples we’ve ever met! “

Approximately 5 months ago, Thomas & Regina came to us looking for suggestions on their wedding theme and we toyed with the idea of using Bright red & Royal blue colour theme. As expected, with eyebrows raised, it was hard for the couple to visualize how basic primary colours that all of us have known since our kindergarten days would look good together! So we sent them some reference pictures and the colour theme was set and ready to go.

We’re more than glad that Thomas & Regina took up our suggestion daringly and even applied it to their ballroom decor (for the existing hotel florist to work with), to their bridesmaids’ dresses and even to their wedding cake!

Charlene and I have agreed that we will try to give more than what is expected of us as stylists. We won’t limit ourselves only to florals and decor, but as best as we can, we will throw in value aded services and surprises. Keep your eyes on this blog coz we’ll talk about it in future entries!

Meanwhile, check out these photos while I try and snoop around facebook for some photos of the couple so that we can feast on some eye candy! Subject to permission of the couple of course! haha.

Have a great week ahead! :)

Ian & Caron

We challenged ourselves this time by trying to create a certain look that the bride-Caron likes, and the hard work and laborious hours paid off when we received encouraging comments!

We salute Caron for having tons of ideas for us to play around with. At the same time, she knew what she wanted for the lunch reception. We had free play in styling the ROM venue and chose to use shades of purple for a cool place like Fabrika!

A picture of the bronze angpow birdcage is missing though….. We’ll have to get that from Caron when she gets back from a looooong vacation :)

Ok, time to stop talking and let the photos do the talking instead :P

Oh, and to squeeze in this one last bit….. Klapsons is an absolutely cool and chic hotel to hold your wedding celebrations in. Especially at Fabrika for an initmate ROM.

Alsen & Jasmine

I met Alsen & Jasmine while styuding in Adelaide. We were not couse mates but attended the same church that Alsen (got to know from a mutual friend) recommended. After graduation, we haven’t met one another in the last 5-6 years *conveniently blames facebook!*. So when Alsen & Jasmine contacted me to style their church wedding venue for them, I was more than happy to do so! This meant a lot to me as it shows their faith in me & recognition in my team’s work. I’m really blessed to have such supportive friends :)

I’m pretty sure that friends and family members of both Alsen & Jasmine would agree that they are one of the nicest people around. This couple is so easy going and without any airs that it’s so easy to like them from the moment you first meet them! Indeed we’re fortunate to have clients like them and we wish them a lifetime of love and happiness with God in the centre of this marriage. Dear Alsen & Jasmine, may you have a beautiful journey ahead!

P.S. Please pardon our photo-taking skills (or the lack of it, rather). hee hee! We’ll try to get the photos from the professional photog, we promise.

Check out more photos in our facebook page

Cheers,

Amy
